Clinton & Associates is a nationally recognized landscape architecture firm providing professional design services to residential, commercial, and institutional clients since 1998. Our award-winning designs are inspired by the natural environment incorporating a large variety of native stone, wood, water and plants to create beautiful, sustainable, functional, and painterly landscapes.
Our residential work is customized to the discerning tastes, desires and aesthetics of our clients, with whom we collaborate to create one-of-a-kind gardens for full outdoor enjoyment. We pay particular attention to scale, location and orientation of the property, the style of the residence and associated out-buildings, and the desired elements established by those who will be occupying and using the spaces.
Our design intention is to blend, in natural progression, physical, environmental, and aesthetic aspects into a creative, unified, site-specific design for the overall property.
Design specialties include water features, outdoor kitchens, green roofs, swimming pools and spas, outdoor living and entertainment areas, meditation gardens, fire pits, terraced rock gardens, forecourts and service courts, vegetable gardens, children’s play and experiential gardens, and extensive ornamental planting designs.
Working collaboratively with architects, developers, and builders, our work in the commercial sector is intended to entertain and delight visitors, and to create exciting and enjoyable outdoor environments that are comfortable, safe, and places where people want to return to time and again. Our work includes streetscapes, golf courses, ski resorts, community parks, shopping malls, active-use roof gardens, passive green roofs, and mixed-use developments in urban and suburban settings. Our intent is to create site-appropriate settings for the architecture, and to provide aesthetically pleasing and functional outdoor areas for shoppers, visitors, residents, and employees.
Our institutional work is primarily large in scale and includes public parks and gardens, academic campuses, health care facilities, and government installations. The scope of work for these projects may include parking facilities, pedestrian and vehicular circulation systems, stream and pond development or restoration, green roofs, terraced plazas, shade structures, water features, bike/hike trails, active and passive roof gardens, botanical gardens, zoos, and recreation parks.
