Martin Meadow Pond

Martin Meadow Pond

New Hampshire

A secluded home in the rolling hills of New England provides entertainment and solitude for a retired couple and their extended family. Prominent views of nearby mountain ranges guided the orientation of the new home on this naturally sloping, rocky site. The comprehensive master plan includes an entry drive meandering through woodland and meadow before passage among a series of stone walls leading to the home’s formal entry forecourt with lush garden rooms flanking the home’s front door.  The rear garden provides for entertainment and gathering, including dinning, cooking, play, and resting by the fire.  Acres of restored meadow and grassland extend beyond the developed landscape. Porous paving, geothermal wells, and other sustainable approaches are utilized in the design of this naturalized landscape.
